MIRACLE AFRICA INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH THE GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR 2009 TO DEFEAT MALARIA AND POVERTY IN AFRICA

MIRACLE AFRICA INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH THE GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR 2009 TO DEFEAT MALARIA AND POVERTY IN AFRICA

In August the Global Champions Tour, the top global jumping circuit, held its second last round of the season at the famous show jumping stable of Mr. Jan Tops, President and founder of the GCT. It was the last round to the Finals which will be held in Doha, Qatar. It was an exciting event for many reasons, because not only did GCT demonstrate again its international
importance, but it added a new dimension to its purpose. The GCE introduced Miracle Africa International Foundation as its partner against the problems of malaria and poverty in Africa.

MEET MIRACLE AFRICA INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION WHO THEY ARE

The Founder and Executive Director of the Geneva, Switzerland- based Miracle Africa International Foundation (MAIF) is award winning international business woman Ms.Nadia Murabet. Ms. Murabet uses the arts, culture and
spectacular world-class sporting events like the Global Champions Tour to raise awareness, support initiatives and build bridges of understanding between Africa and Europe. Ms. Murabet’s work through the Miracle Africa International Foundation is dedicated to developing and promoting initiatives by raising awareness about malaria and other problems. One of the key factors to help the prevention of further loss of life from malaria is to educate local communities and provide them with the tools and medication they need to help wipe out this deadly disease that kills over 3,000 people every day, many of whom are young children in Africa.

WHAT THEY DO

The “Miracle Africa International Foundation” collaborates with the African Union, World Youth Alliance-Africa, the African Diaspora Union, the World Health Organization and the United Nations by creating and supporting projects and programs that promote principles of sustainable development, economic stability and good governance. The objective is to improve the
quality of life for the people in Africa and everyone can play a part in this positive transformation. Ms. Nadia Murabet believes that if the world refocuses on issues affecting people in Africa, a powerful new era of global peace and prosperity can be promoted that will benefit everyone.

WHY GCT AND MIRACLE AFRICA INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION ARE A GOOD MATCH

The Global Champions Tour of the Netherlands is a sporting event of the highest level and its collaboration with the Miracle Africa International Foundation is ideal, as both embody the idea of peace between nations and people of every race, religion, creed and color. There are riders representing 16 countries from 5 continents competing in front of a worldwide audience

from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. These audience were reached due to television coverage provided by Euro-sport in Europe, Universal Sports-USA, Al Jazeera Sport-Middle East countries, Euro-sport Asia-Pacific, Equidia-France and Supersport-South France. Furthermore, because it is an international sporting event with a wide international audience, it creates an ideal platform to bring more attention to issues facing Africa such as health care, social development and education.

DETAILS OF THE EVENT

Among the VIPS attending the sporting event and later the Gran Gala were Athina Onassis, a strong equestrian in her own right; also another horse lover, Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover was
present. Following the sporting event there was a lavish Gala to benefit the Miracle Africa International Foundation. A Moroccan-themed cuisine and live music was offered to the guests in a lavishly transformed indoor arena. Many of the riders including Gianni Govoni, Roger Yves Bost and Michel Robert were seen enjoying the evening with celebrity guests such as Athina Onassis, Charlotte Casiraghi and Princess Caroline of Hanover. Clearly the involvement of the Miracle Africa International Foundation was appreciated by all concerned. “Events like this are always a good idea, most of us involved in the GCT have a good life but perhaps we are not always aware of what goes on outside the horse world, and this makes us realize some of those things, in a memorable way, so we can be part of giving something back to the world” said Jan Tops, GCT founder and President.
